Video: Writing with New Media

This is the video that I composed in the class today.

The main idea is that I try to elaborate the definition of writing from tradition writing practice. New media is the alternative tool that helps writing more powerful.

Working with Window Media Maker is simple and easy to follow. I have been using this program for while. The task is just to know how to manipulate rhetoric into the context to communicate my ideas.

The weakness of this video is that I pretty don't like the ending of the video. It's kind of dull. I would need to add more detail. Well, this is just the one-day video. I need to learn more though.

Thank you for watching my video.

Google Addiction

Google addiction: A New Addiction is Sweeping College Campuses.

I found this video after writing the previous post; Internet Addiction. Of course, I just 'Google' it up as usual! It is not surprise to see that there are many more people are addicting to some kind of the Internet products like Google. They are almost similar to me. Searching Google for all the things that are driven by curiosity.

Google again ? Oh..man!

    ...................

These are the questions in Internet Addiction Test (IAT) that I found it is important to assess my excessive Internet usage. For many years, I have been using the Internet in different purposes such as e-mail, downloading, browsing, and reading. It is fascinating that the Internet provides everything I want to know. It is good to know what I want to. On the other hand, having too many things to see has made me over-flood with information and become the suffering user from Internet addiction. I usually over-stay on-line, neglect duty, and become solate from social life without knowing how to control the problem.

The Center for Internet Addiction Recovery (http://www.netaddiction.com/default.aspx) provides the resources for treating Internet addiction. I can find several self-tests for Internet addiction. For example:

Cybersexual Addiction Quiz - A quiz to determine if you are addicted to cybersex or viewing cyberporn.

Internet Addiction Test (IAT) - A test for online users to determine if they may be addicted to the Internet.

Quiz for Obsessive Online Gaming - A quiz for those who might suffer from online gaming addiction.

Quiz for Compulsive Online Gamblers - A quiz for those might suffer from compulsive online gambling.

Quiz for Online Auction Addiction - A quiz for those who may suffer from an addiction to online auction houses.

The Partner's Addiction Test - A test for spouses or partners of potential Internet addicts.

The Parent-Child Addiction Test - A quiz for parents to help assess if their son or daughter may be dealing with an addiction to the Internet

Personally, I think that Internet addicts, including myself, need to distract their attention from the on-line activities to off-line activities such as reading books, exercising, social meeting, and of course, working.

I hope to be able to get out of the Internet hook soon. It is very difficult to be away from the Internet trap. Being too much on-line sometimes makes me sick!
